Could you or someone you know be suffering from adjustment disorder?
Approximately 154 830 women a year in the UK will experience some level of adjustment disorder around the time of having their baby.
Women who suffer from this, experience distress due to the change that becoming a parent may bring.
For some, it's the change in their body when they are pregnant. For others it the realisation that they are about to become parents. For other women, when they take their new baby home, the change that this new life has on their life is very difficult.
It can be challenging having a new born baby but for women who suffer from this common condition, the stress and emotion that comes with becoming a parent makes them more distressed than would normally be expected.
