Maternal OCD

Maternal OCD is one of the lesser talked about mental illnesses that pregnant women and new mums can suffer with.

 

This can make it even harder for a woman to speak out or to ask for help.

 

A women who has maternal OCD can be plagued by intrusive thoughts which take over her entire life, preventing her from enjoying most aspects of it. Many women with maternal OCD find every day tasks such as leaving the house or having a wash or even looking after their new babies virtually impossible.

 

The best way for society to help women with maternal OCD is learn more about it and to bring it into the public sphere so it is more commonly understood and talked about.
